Who we are

Enerena is building a UK energy marketplace where homeowners, installers and distributors can browse, buy and install energy technology in one place. In this notice, “Enerena”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the team behind enerena.com. We are responsible for the personal information you share with us through this website.

The information we collect

When you join our waitlist or apply to join early, we ask for:

• your name and email address
• whether you’re joining as a homeowner, installer or distributor
• your company name and, if your business is registered, its Companies House number, if you’re an installer or distributor
• the technology you’re most interested in (optional)

We also keep a record of your confirmations and consent: when you signed up, that you confirmed you’re 18 or over and agreed to our terms, the wording you agreed to and the version of this notice in place at the time.

We don’t ask for payment details, energy bills or your address.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

• send you news about Enerena’s launch, early access and updates, if you’ve asked us to
• contact installers and distributors about joining Enerena early
• understand which technologies people are most interested in, so we can plan the marketplace around real demand
• reply to any question or request you send us

We will not sell your information or share it with other companies for their own marketing.

Our legal basis

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we rely on your consent to send you updates by email. You give this by ticking the box on our form. The box is never ticked for you, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.

We rely on our legitimate interests to keep a record of your sign-up and consent, to contact businesses that have applied to join early, and to keep our website secure.

Age

Our waitlist is only for people aged 18 or over. If we learn that someone under 18 has signed up, we’ll delete their details.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to host this website, collect sign-ups and send our emails. They process your information only on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes.

Some of these providers may store information outside the UK. When that happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

We may also share information if the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

We keep your details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. If Enerena launches and you haven’t joined, we’ll delete your waitlist details within 24 months of launch. When you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address on a suppression list so that we don’t contact you again.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
• ask us to correct anything that’s wrong or incomplete
• ask us to delete your information
• object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information
• ask for your information in a portable format
• withdraw your consent at any time

To stop receiving emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email we send you. For anything else, email privacy@enerena.com. We’ll respond within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies and tracking

This website doesn’t use analytics, advertising trackers or non-essential cookies, so you won’t see a cookie banner. Our fonts are hosted on our own website, so visiting doesn’t send your information to an external font service.

Like any website, our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and protect it from misuse.

Keeping your information safe

Our website is served over a secure, encrypted connection (HTTPS), and only the people who need it can access waitlist information.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as Enerena grows, for example when the marketplace launches. The latest version will always be on this page with the date it was last updated. If the changes are significant, we’ll let you know by email.
